Montclair State University is one of more than 60 colleges and universities nation-wide honored to host a Bonner Leaders Program. Bonner Leaders commit to an average of 10 hours of service a week and 300 hours for the academic year. These hours are made up primarily of service to a community agency or project, but also from activities such as in-service workshops, training sessions, and retreats that address pertinent issues and teach valuable, transferable skills.
As Bonner Leaders at MSU, members...
We are fundraising for our summer service trip. Every summer in August we spend an intensive week learning about the value and importance of helping others. We travel to Hazlet, NJ where we stay at a local church in volunteer housing. We work with a non profit, Jersey Shore Workcamp, which was developed to help repair homes for local residents with financial challenges. Bonners get to know their residents and assist in home repair. Through this service Bonners are able to help in local communities, create strong bonds, and learn real-world construction skills. Your support will help us make this trip a success!
