<strong>We have great news to share! An anonymous donor matched the first $1,000 match gift and now offered another $1,000 match. The amazing response to Dr. Gilbert, the success hotline and his passion for recognizing and awarding amazing faculty has been incredible. </strong>
<strong>Let's join the effort by October 31 and make an impact to unlock an additional $1,000 for The Robert Ellis Gilbert Endowed Award. </strong>
The Robert Ellis Gilbert Endowed Award for Positive Impact in Teaching Fund is being established to honor Dr. “Rob” Gilbert and his extraordinary impact as an Associate Professor in the College for Community Health at Montclair State University for the past 45 years. Thanks to generous supporters, the fund has reached the endowment threshold and will be awarded this fall to an outstanding Montclair State faculty member who embodies Dr. Gilbert’s lasting impact as an educator. The $1,000 challenge provides an opportunity to continue growing the endowment and extend Rob’s legacy for years to come.
Dr. Gilbert teaches sports psychology in the Kinesiology Department, where he has inspired students, alumni, parents, colleagues, fans, and friends through his classroom teaching, books, and “Success Hotline.” Anyone can call his Success Hotline and listen to his three-minute outgoing motivational message, which he has never missed a single day in 33 years. As of April 2025, he has left nearly 12,500 messages, sharing his message of motivation and positivity with countless people.
The Robert Ellis Gilbert Endowed Award for Positive Impact in Teaching will be awarded annually to a current faculty member who has positively impacted the lives of their students and the Montclair State University community over a significant period of their teaching career. This award honors a member of the MSU faculty who excels at teaching, inspiring, and mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students. The honoree must demonstrate a lasting dedication to the ideals of higher education at Montclair State University and the highest standard of excellence, inspiring academic rigor, engagement, and intellectual curiosity.
The award is meant to acknowledge a faculty member who demonstrates exemplary commitment to their students, is known for their passion for teaching, and inspires students, colleagues, and friends in similar ways. The fund will support the University and its programs that assist students while creating a lasting tribute to the positive impact of exceptional teaching and mentorship.

We aim to pave the way for future student athletes joining the MSU Women's Club Soccer team by providing them with the equipment they need to participate.
We aim to pave the way for future student athletes joining the MSU Women's Club Soccer team by providing them with the equipment they need to participate. Office of Annual Giving We are a dedicated group of student athletes looking forward to helping broaden both our skills and love for the sport. Over the years, some of our equipment and many of our uniforms have gone missing. In order to continue as a club, we have to ensure we remain equipped with everything necessary to play. On top of these miscellaneous fees we pay our own league, tournament, referee, and travel fees. All donations made will help us cover these costs while fostering the club’s development and allowing us to keep our registration costs feasible as we want to ensure that a financial burden does not get between a player and the sport they love. We appreciate any donations that will bring us closer to our goal; these donations will be directly used by the club, and in turn, will have a direct positive impact on each player.
We aim to pave the way for future student athletes joining the MSU Women's Club Soccer team by providing them with the equipment they need to participate. We are determined to raise money not only for our current team, but for the former club team players who have helped us get to where we are as well as the players who will take our positions in the future.

Office of Annual Giving Montclair State Men's Club Soccer aims to create a competitive yet friendly environment for all players. This team is full of young men with tremendous respect, honor, and love for the game. Each time we put on the jersey, we pride ourselves on representing Montclair State University. However, unfortunately, as time has passed, many of our uniforms and equipment have gone missing. In order to continue to operate as a club, we need to ensure that we have everything needed to play and compete. Paying our own league fees, referee fees, and travel fees can lead to extremely high registration costs, which can lead to many players not being able to play. All donations made will help cover the costs of playing and will hopefully also be able to cover the costs of new uniforms. We are aiming to set a strong foundation for our club to ensure that the players in the future have just the same opportunities that we did. Every dollar raised through this fundraiser will be used directly by the club, having a positive impact on each and every player. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Go RedHawks!
