90.3 WMSC FM is an alternative rock and talk college radio station owned by Montclair State University, largely operated by university students and supported by the School of Communication and Media. The station broadcasts locally at 90.3 MHz, worldwide via their website, and is also available via the iHeartRadio app.
In the past four years, WMSC has earned national recognition receiving two nominations for the prestigious Marconi Radio Award, winning the Spirit of College Radio Award twice, and several college broadcasters wins and nominations including being nominated for Best College Station in The Nation (in colleges of +10,000 students).
There are currently 18 student directors who oversee the station’s operation in the areas of news, sports, music, production, promotions, ticket giveaways, website, social media, engineering, morning show production and office manager. The station currently has over 45 disc-jockeys on air, almost 70 contributors and over 500 general members, all volunteers.
Students who participate at WMSC have, as a result, obtained internships at commercial stations such as WDHA, 101.5FM, WCBS, iHeartRadio and SiriusXM among others.
