Human trafficking is one of the most horrendous crimes of our time. The COVID-19 pandemic has had catastrophic effects for survivors of human trafficking and individuals at risk of human trafficking here at home in the United States and around the world.  This global pandemic has significantly disrupted the lives and support networks of survivors of trafficking while increasing their financial stress, homelessness, food insecurity, interpersonal violence, and grief over the loss of loved ones.

The Global Center for Human Trafficking (GCHT) is a multi-disciplinary center within Montclair State University the second largest public university in New Jersey.  GCHT is dedicated to playing a leadership and coordinating role in the global effort to end human by encouraging the study of human trafficking; increasing knowledge about human trafficking; and developing effective and innovative solutions to the complex problems of human trafficking.  Our work is focused on five areas:

1) Education and Training, 

2) Research and Program Evaluation, 

3) Policy and Regulation, 

4) Networking and Sharing, 

5) Improving Victim Services.  

We carry out our mission by leveraging the University’s multi-dimensional as well as interdisciplinary educational and research resources, as well as by collaborating and partnering with other entities who are working to put an end to human trafficking at the individual and systemic levels.
