What is Giving Tuesday?

For Montclair State, Giving Tuesday represents the chance to come together as a community of loyal supporters and give back to make an impact by supporting greatest needs at Montclair State. This global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration is observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. After the widely recognized shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, Giving Tuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources. 

Giving to Montclair State

When you give to Montclair State University, you make great things happen! You provide opportunities and create possibilities. State aid accounts for only 23% of Montclair State’s operating budget. Gifs to the Fund for Montclair State help close the gap and have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of our students by providing much-needed support for scholarships; improvement to classrooms; laboratories and campus facilities; new program development; and technologies that give our students an edge in an increasingly competitive world.

Support a Special Fund, School or College/Program or Athletics 

Every gift counts!  We encourage you to support an area of campus which you feel most passionate about.  Please consider making a gift to:

• Special Funds - Make a gift to a special fund such as the Red Hawk Pantry, Emergency Book Fund or Emergency Scholarship Fund. We invite you to explore some of these areas of campus to support today. 
• Schools, Colleges and Programs - Give to your school or college or another academic program in support of Giving Tuesday.
• Athletics - Show your Red Hawk pride today with a gift in support of your favorite team or athletic program.
