Leave Your Mark – Name a Seat!

Here’s your chance to leave your mark on Montclair State University and create opportunities in support of the arts.

Through the John J. Cali School of Music Name-A-Seat campaign, you can name one or more of the 180 permanent seats in the Leshowitz Recital Hall, and help fund scholarships for underserved student musicians.

Enjoy having your name, a sentiment, anniversary date, or the name of another person you wish to honor laser-engraved on an elegant plaque placed on one of the Recital Hall seats to be cherished for years to come. It’s a great way to celebrate a loved one, honor an arts lover, or give a gift to the person who has everything. 

These seats have never been available for naming, so now is your chance!

Name a Seat, Create a Pathway!

Your support helps the Cali School of Music at Montclair State University through the CALI PATHWAYS PROJECT, which creates dynamic and comprehensive pathways to higher education and careers in music for under-resourced student musicians by assisting them in breaking down the barriers that may otherwise preclude them from achieving their full musical potential.

The Pathways Project helps those students who show passion and accomplishment while exhibiting financial need by offsetting some or all of their tuition costs.

Seat Naming Opportunities start at $2,000 and are fully tax-deductible.

With your gift of $2,000 or more, you can have an engraved plaque that will be placed on one of the seats in the Leshowitz Recital Hall.

•            $2,000 per seat

•            $3,500 for 2 seats

Engraving allows up to three lines with a maximum of 20 characters (including spaces) per line.

Please note:

We have the right to reject any seat name where the proposed text for the engraved plaque contains unacceptable language or does not adhere to University or School standards.

Event seating is not guaranteed in chairs bearing specific names.
