Charles J. Muth Museum of Hinchliffe Stadium

The story of America runs through Paterson.

One of the original "American Dreams," Paterson, New Jersey, is still creating hope and opportunity for families nearly 250 years after it was founded as America's first planned industrial city.

For most of the last 100 years, legendary Hinchliffe Stadium has stood within the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park. As steeped in history as the city itself, Hinchliffe has been home to everything from Negro League baseball and demolition derbies to amateur boxing, football, and even labor rallies. A designated stop on the New Jersey Black Heritage Trail, it has stood as a cultural touchstone and been home to trailblazers such as baseball Hall of Famer Larry Doby.

The Charles J. Muth Museum of Hinchliffe Stadium is dedicated to preserving and honoring the legacy of Hinchliffe Stadium. Each year, the Museum draws thousands of students, educators, families, and tourists to experience a powerful story of resilience and social progress – a uniquely American story that takes place in Paterson.

Your gift today will help sustain and grow the Museum’s ability to offer free and low-cost programs that engage the public year-round, including:
